So, guess what I got today?

This makes me so happy even though it doesn’t quite fit. Its surprisingly close, though. I was prepared for it to be completely out of the question, but its actually close enough that I might try to see if a compression garment might help just enough. Though really the biggest problem is my evidently disproportionately fat neck, and that won’t help there. Even still, I’m thrilled to have a Star Fleet Uniform in my closet. Though I did put the damn rank pips on the wrong side (because I was looking in a mirror) and had to fix them in photoshop.

It is really gorgeous costume from Anovos Productions and its making me very tempted to get their movie reboot tunic as well, even if I’m wildly conflicted about the JJ-verse at best. Its very much constructed like a costume, so I’d need help to properly put it on in the best of circumstances (trust me, you don’t want to see the back). But it really is beautiful. The red in the tunic is really sensitive to light. It looks a dark maroon under low light, but in brighter conditions it really pops like it does on TV. The pins are all magnetic, though there is still a velcro pad for the Comm badge for some unknown reason. Honestly, if they decided to extend their size range (this is a 2XL), I’d buy another one just out of admiration for the workmanship and quality.

Fatshion Whenever: May 6th
Gatsby Inspired Outfit Edition, or Technically this is before Labor Day edition. I saw the Leo wearing something kinda sorta like this in an ad for The Great Gatsby and felt the need to mimic. A nice success, even if I ended up twisting my ankle in this outfit. Thankfully, the pain subsided long enough to take a couple shots.
Oh, and I checked and evidently this is not a full windsor like I thought but the more reserved half-windsor, (albeit a fat knotted half-windsor). James Bond may think I’m a cad, but not because of this necktie.

My first attempt at a full Windsor knot. James Bond will never trust me now.

Fatshion Whenever: April 5th (again)

Hypothetical fatshion edition. When I came home from my concert tonight in my Broadway Professor ensemble from earlier, I felt the need to try on my new red corduroy blazer with my orange pants. I can’t imagine having someplace cool enough to wear this outfit to, but I’m glad its something I have access to should the need arise.

I look like a professor in a Broadway musical and that is magnificent.

Fat Guy in Orange Pants AND Orange Shoes edition. See, now this outfit I can understand being called a weirdo in. I wouldn’t care, but I’d at least understand. I did get openly laughed at once, and bluntly stared at a few times, but I got through it. I realized that orange dress shoes, much moreso than orange slacks, engenders the same reaction I get when I wear a bright orange dress shirt. Some people may look at me disapprovingly, but there are also more people who’ll open praise it. As I said when I bought them, these are shoes that will insist on attention being paid to them.
