This makes me so angry and sad and hurt. A place that is suppose to be the happiest place on earth is now using my body and bodies like mine to create more shame, more harm.
Yep. Its not hard to imagine the fat child going to Epcot and then encountering this. Fat shame is already going to be such an enormous part of their life and you know the sense of dread they’ll feel as they recognize what the exhibit is doing. How its using bodies like their’s to represent all sorts of evil things. And because if there is one thing we teach fat children above all else, its that they deserve this kind pain and humiliation, they’ll most likely suffer through the embarrassment and shame in silence. Because no one ever tells fat kids that its wrong to bully them because they are fat. No one ever tells fat children that loving themselves is ever an option for them.
